Philip Houston, aged 20, was born in Ingolstadt Germany and has been riding since he was 6 years old

Initially riding at local and national levels and subsequently as an accomplished pony rider on the highly competitive international pony circuit. Philip has represented Germany at numerous Nations Cup events over the years.

The transition to horses began in late 2013 and Philip has increased his exposure to both the national and international circuits over the last years with several Nations Cup competitions, culminating in a Team Gold win for Germany in the Juniors European Championships held in Austria in 2015.

In 2015 Philip was awarded the German “Goldenes Reitabzeichen” for his exemplary riding performance.

2016 saw Philips’ first exposure to competitions at the 5* level and he successfully completed his first year in the Longines Global Champions Tour with an overall place ranking of 41st. Additionally he won the German Championships, Juniors (U18)

2017 was highlighted with numerous shows around the world, from Shanghai, several in Europe including the European Championships riding for Germany in Samorin and the GCT final in Doha.

Philip is a motivated and ambitioned young rider, trained by Karsten Huck, looking forward to the challenges that the 2018 season will bring.
