Philip Houston, aged 22, was born in Ingolstadt Germany and has been riding since he was 6 years old.

Initially riding at local and national levels and subsequently as an accomplished pony rider, on the highly competitive international pony circuit.

The transition to horses began in late 2013 and Philip has increased his exposure at both national and international competitions including being a member of several Nations Cup squads.

In 2015 at the age of 17 he was awarded the German “Goldenes Reitabzeichen”

2016 saw Philips’ first exposure at the 5* level and was also the German (U18) champion.

2017 was highlighted with numerous shows at the 5* level around the globe from China to Europe and Qatar. Being trained by Karsten Huck now for several years, Philip has enhanced his riding skills and is well set up to compete at the top show jumping levels.

2018 rode for Cascais Charms this year and a highlight for him was his 5th place in the GP in Estoril.

2019 Philip competed mainly at 4* and lower levels this year and focussed on training up his relatively inexperienced horses. The change in his horse line up meant that he primarily trained under the watchful eye of Pius Schwitzer and later in the year with Jessica Kürten.

2020 is the new start. A new horse line up, being trained by Jessica Kürten and now ready, motivated, and looking forward to the season riding for the Doha Falcons.
