Olivier first tried riding at age five and joined a pony club at age 12. He was a very sucessful Young Rider, winning three European medals. 

His twin brother Nicola is an international showjumper and the two regularly compete in the same competitions. His father Ludo and uncle Johan are also international riders and coaches.

He became the youngest rider to win the Spruce Meadows Grand Prix event in Calgary, Canada, with his victory there in 2012.

Olivier was named 2012 Flemish Equestrian League Talent of the Year. His ambition is to compete in an Olympic Games.
