Juan Carlos Garcia was born in Bogota, Colombia. When he was 15, he moved to France and four years later he arrived in Italy. As a Junior, he won three championships in Colombia before moving to the stable of Guy Marten in France where he caught the eye of Vincenzo Muccioli, founder of San Patrignano. Aged 21, Juan Carlos represented Italy in the 1988 Seoul Olympics claiming Team Bronze.  

Not yet satisfied with his impressive career, Juan Carlos decided to try eventing a few years ago while continueing to show jump. In 2009, he claimed an incredible European Team Silver in show jumping and eventing. Juan Carlos is a regualr on the Italian Nations Cup team.
