He began riding at age ten because his mother was involved in the sport and encouraged him to try it along with his older brother Andreas. The most influential person in his career is his brother Andreas. He runs Absolute Horses in Sommersted, Denmark, with his brother and their business partner, the Hallundbæk family. Absolute Horses are also joint owners of JBK Horseshows, a company that plans and arranges horse meetings.

Christian was a successful young rider, competing in four Junior/Young Rider European Championships. Christian’s motto is to “Think ahead”, and his ambition in the sport is “to win a major international showjumping event”. The brothers have run their stud since 2007 and the venue has played host to the Danish National Championships in the past. Christian's most memorable performance is his "flawless" ride with Coronada at the 2011 Falsterbo Grand Prix. His ambition is to win a major international competition.
