LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR is back on French ground in a genuine “horse town”. Chantilly is renowned for its “Crème Chantilly”, but the real essence of this historical town north of Paris is the horse. Chantilly is now one of the biggest training centres for thoroughbreds and over 3,000 horses are put through their paces each morning on the tracks where the sandy ground is excellent for their delicate legs. In June the hippodrome will host two prestigious races: the Prix de Diane and the Prix du Jockey-Club.
LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR OF CHANTILLY is played out against the exquisite Chateau de Chantilly and the beautiful Grand Stables, built in the 18thcentury by the grandson of Louis XIV. The Foundation of the Chantilly Domain, created by His Highness the Aga Khan, has carefully restored and developed this architectural jewel. Visitors can explore the Musée Vivant du Cheval (“Living Horse Museum”) created by Yves Bienaimé in 1982, where the equestrian world of the past and present is brought to life in visually stunning equestrian shows and dressage demonstrations.
Chantilly also has facilities for golf, including a course attached to the event hotel the Dolce, and polo. And, of course, this is all in easy reach of the great city of Paris itself.
