Biography

Jessica Kürten was born in the north of Ireland – on November, 24th 1969 in Cullybacky. She is the daughter of a dentist and an artist.

Father Chesney successfully bred horses and also mother Rosemary always supported the horse-dear of her five children. This love of the small Jessica first concentrated on a donkey named Mr. Porridge, who was obviously able, to show his still very young rider the substantial criteria of the horse-sport . As Jessica Chesney she won Irish junior titles and soon graduated to senior honours.In 1994 Jessica moved to Hunxe, Rhineland, Germany when she married Eckard Kürten. She also began a long and successful partnership with owner Lady Georgina Forbes and in 2008 the pair were rewarded when they won the the Global Champions Tour Final with legendary mare Castle Forbes Libertina. Sadly a small injury to the mare prevented them defending the title in 2009, but Jessica was placed in GCT shows on Quibelle, a long time faithful servant who was officially retired at the Valkenswaard Show and also Castle Forbes Mrytille Paulois. At the Final she won the opening class with Castle Forbes Cosma. on her return to Europe, to the delight of many fans, she concluded 2009 and began 2010 with two World Cup qualifier wins on a back to her best Libertina. Jessica Kurten will certainly be one to watch on the 2010 GCT circuit.
