Biography

One of the worlds leading lady rider’s, Australia Edwina Alexander, has been riding on the international show jumping circuit for 13 years.  The sensational small mare Pialotta catapulted the pair to recognition and has been followed by another small horse with a big jumping stature in Itot du Chateau.

Having started at the first GCT event in Wellington, USA in 2006 Edwina has had many successes. In 2009 she won the GCT Grand Prix of The Netherlands at Valkenswaard and was runner up in Rio.  Edwina and Itot du Chateau won the 2010 Grand Prix in Cannes, France, and were 3^rd at both Chantilly and Rio in 2010.

The 2011 season started in earnest for Edwina as she placed 2^nd at both the CSI5*-W in Vigo and Gothenburg and 3^rd at CSI5*-W Zurich. Her star team this year includes Itot du Chateau, Socrates, Kisby and Ciske  van Overis.

Gucci, in 2011, formally signed Edwina to a major sponsorship, a fitting partnership between a stylish world-class athlete and one of the world’s leading fashion houses. She is also sponsored by Amerigo and Las Helmets.

This year Edwina will marry her life partner Jan Tops, founder of the Global Champions Tour.
