Spurred by the encouragement of his supportive parents, Shane Breen began horseriding in Ireland at age 5. Now a rider of international standing, he counts many key wins among his impressive career profile. In 2011 alone, he won the Spruce Meadows Derby, was part of the winning team in La Baule, had a Double Clear in Dublin Nations Cup, a Clear in the Nations Cup in Aachen and came 6th at the American Invitational. Shane is also keen to pass the torch on to new riders, running an equestrian business with his wife Chloe and his brother Trevor Breen, who won the Irish National Championship in 2008. His advice to young riders is to always keep working at it. He rates Global Champions Tour as the ‘best of the best.’
