Edwina Tops-Alexander in new nutritional partnership

Release date: 01/02/2013 |

Global Champions Tour 2012 Champion Edwina Tops-Alexander has announced a new nutritional partnership with Irish horse feed company Connolly’s RED MILLS.

Edwina, the world’s leading female show jumper, is already sponsored by leading global luxury fashion house Gucci and is an ambassador for the luxury Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre.

The new partnership means all her horses will be fed exclusively on Connolly’s RED MILLS horse feeds. This includes her champion gelding Cevo Itot du Chateau, who has helped her to a record-setting two GCT championships in 2011 and 2012. Her horses will follow strict diet plans to suit their individual needs formulated by Connolly's RED MILLS nutritionists at their headquarters in Goresbridge, Co. Kilkenny.

Speaking about the RED MILLS nutritional partnership Edwina said: “I'm delighted to have this opportunity and support from Connolly's Red Mills feed. Nutrition is one of the key factors in performance, along with the sophisticated program and expertise knowledge now available through Red Mills to individually analyse my horses. I'm very confident that Connolly's Red Mills will benefit not only my horses but also my own performance level."

Joe Connolly, Managing Director of the €100 million international group Connolly’s RED MILLS, said the feeding program will help improve the performance and maintain the good condition of Edwina’s horses. He said: “Edwina can keep all her horses in top digestive health on the inside and performing to their best with the assistance of our nutritional experts.”

The company uses the most advanced technologies and processes in making its feeds. Connolly’s testing technologies are the same as those used by the Olympic Council and forensic bodies around the world.
