Valencia

Welcome to Valencia

Valencia and the City of Arts and Sciences, a stunning architectural and cultural location, will host the second leg of the Global Champions Tour on May 4-6, 2012. Once again Oxer Sport, the leading company in the organisation of equestrian events in Spain, will be leading the event with GCT. Carles Vilarrubí, President of Oxer Sport, together with members of the Valencia Government and the City Council will again join the event organising team for the fourth time with the eyes of the equestrian world on the GCT in Valencia.

The City of Arts and Sciences was designed by the famous architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. This fantastic tourist attraction will be transformed into a stunning show jumping arena with the large lake next to the Principe Felipe Science Museum drained specially to create the main arena for the event.

As well as hosting the Global Champions Tour, this city by the Mediterranean already hosts major sporting championships from America’s Cup sailing to Formula One and tennis. Large crowds traditionally pack the grandstands and the surrounding viewing stands to watch the world’s best riders in action in this major international venue on Spain’s Iberian peninsula.
