Shanghai promises to be one of the most spectacular fixtures on the GCT calendar and will be making its debut in 2012.
This towering city of gleaming, gravity-defying skyscrapers will be the setting for the 12th leg of the season from 4-6 October and is set to create one of the most stunning events of the circuit. The booming city of Shanghai is fast becoming one of the most exciting locations not just in Asia but in the world with commerce and culture thriving in this futuristic part of modern China.
Dubbed the Pearl of the Orient and the Paris of the East, Shanghai is both hip and modern and undergoing one of the fastest economic expansions ever seen – a far cry from its Communist past. With galleries, exclusive hotels and restaurants and increasing numbers of flagship stores for the world’s most luxurious brands, the city is a natural new partner for the Global Champions Tour.
