Canadian rider Eric Lamaze did not start Hickstead in the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard due to the wet weather.

He stated that it had nothing to do with the surface of the arena in the wet conditions as it is riding very well.  He added that the 15 year old horse has had a spell since CHIO Aachen and jumped yesterday for its first time back.

Eric commented that he has had few Global Champions Tour starts this year and is not in a position to deem necessary to start today especially with the heavy rain.

Eric said that he will compete Hickstead in the Small Grand Prix tomorrow, Sunday 14th August, at Valkenswaard.
