The riders list for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has been confirmed as the final planes leave European shores.
Two German top listers Meredith Michaels Beerbaum and Christian Ahlmann have cancelled as one of France’s cherished equestrian icons Philippe Rozier steps up to the challenge in Rio.
Global Champions Tour leading ranked riders are all on their way including;
1. Edwina Alexander, Australia 228 points
2. Luciana Diniz, Portugal 192 points
3. Ludger Beerbaum, Germany 186.50 points
4. Denis Lynch, Ireland 178 points
5. Alvaro de Miranda Neto, Brazil 173 points
6. Marco Kutscher, Germany, 150 points

All are still very much in the mix to win the 2011 coverted Global Champions Tour Champion 2011 title.
With just two events to run this year it is anyone of the rider’s game. For now their aim will be to earn as many points as possible this weekend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
From here the riders begin to drop their least valuable scores. The Global Champions Tour rankings post ‘Rio’ –event will be shaken up and an interesting race to the finish will definitely ensue. The final will be held at the Al Fiorsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi November 24-26.
