Whether you’re shopping for exclusive equine fashion or simply want to relax in a plush open-air lounge the Trade Stand is a suitably luxurious and comfortable environment.

Anne-Charlotte Remy has been working with the GCT this year. She says the shop is always popular at each event.

‘The clothes are exclusively designed for the Global Champions Tour and each garment has our distinctive logo on it,’ she says. ‘One of the most popular items is the body warmer. It goes over a nice shirt or tee-shirt to create a look that suits all kinds of weather.’

Customers can buy a range of goods from a GCT caps priced at 15 Euros, a quality tee-shirt for 45 Euros or a tailored, waterproof jacket for around 110 Euros.

The stand’s lounge is a fairly cosy area with four Chesterfield armchairs, potted flowers, little evergreen trees and a snug coffee-bar. The fridge is stocked with champagne and mineral water and there is a big box of chocolates on the counter which is usually empty by early afternoon. There are also two goldfish in a bowl.

‘Those goldfish have travelled all over Europe,’ says Anne-Charlotte with a smile. ‘They seem to adapt well to different climates. It’s my job to feed them each day and between shows I take them home with me. I haven’t named them yet – I’m open to suggestions.’

Horse breeder Jan Tops can often be found with colleagues in the lounge and if the day has been particularly successful he’s only too happy to crack open the bubbly.

‘There is a good combination of people relaxing in the lounge while on the other side of the stand, people browse and shop for clothes,’ says Anne-Charlotte.

Despite her diminutive stature, Anne-Charlotte is part of the team who load all the GCT stands, banners, and fences into one huge lorry at the close of each event. She is also qualified to drive a fork-lift truck.

‘Everything has to fit in the GCT lorry,’ she says, ‘It’s quite a challenge! But somehow we manage.’
