Prix E. Leclerq Le Cannet – 1.45m

Brazilian Alvaro de Miranda Neto (Doda), second yesterday, turned the cards coming up trumps this evening, completing a very fast round in 61.45 seconds. He took every risk with the shortened lines where necessary and galloping where possible with the stallion AD Norson. They also won a class here in Cannes in 2010.
Simon Delestre (FRA) winner of yesterday’s 1.45m with Ciana Z entered the arena directly following Doda, but was unable to catch his time. Delestre came across the finishing line in a time of 61.81 seconds that eventually was good enough to put him into third place.
Spain’s Manuel Anon, who placed 5th in last evening’s one round class, put in another good jumping performance with the 10 year old Noncorde mare Fantasia (61.80 seconds). Having the advantage of being further down the start list, Manuel had all intentions of having a cut and finished just .33 seconds behind Doda.

On the course
The course was quite tough. I had a very set plan for the course upon walking it and I stuck to it.
On the horse
I have had Norson since he was five years of age and now as a 10 year old we have formed a good partnership. We have won more than 10 international classes over the last year.
On the win
The horse is very quick and a big striding horse. I have now got him to the stage where I am able to keep the big stride to full advantage. I can hold him to adjust the ride for positioning and turning yet keep the big stride. This is what I believe makes him very good. He actually has more capabilities than this height so it was a nice ride. He is very clever which makes my life easier.
On the show
Cannes is special for me winning a class here last year and another her today. It is a very nice show to be at.
