CSI Valkenswaard also hosts a 2* competition and this morning the Young Horse Final took place. Yesterday  had ended with a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and today began in the same way as another American Olympian, Beezie Madden, came out best of a 10 horse jump off.  Riding her seven year old gelding Zhivago she  won by half a second from Alvaro de Miranda and AD Wilbert Z. "I have had him since December and we got him from Europe and we hope he is going to be a future Grand Prix  horse" she said afterwards. The horse is Dutch bred by No Limits and owned by Abigail Wexner. Although Brazil took the runners up spot, Dutch riders took the next the three places which was a good sign for the potential of The Netherlands and showed there is certainly nothing lacking in their breeding programme.  Piet Bulthuis, Ben Schroder and Harrie Smolders were third fourth and fifth respectively.
