Carles Vilarrubi, president of show organisers Oxersport, will host an opening ceremony at 11.00 Thursday 6th May  in the presensence of officials and representatives from the City Council of Valencia and the local goverment, Generaliat Valenciana. Representing the riders will be Spanish international Cayetano Martinez de Irujo who will be among the national cpompetitors. Also attending will be dignitaries from leading show sponsor  Banco Sabadell. After this the horses will be presented for a veterinary inspection and then the arena will be opened for training sessions before the jumping proper commences on Friday.

The Ciudad De Las Artes Y las Ciencias (The City of Arts and Sciences) provides a magnificient backdrop for some of the worlds best riders to compete against. Facilities have been improved this year with more space available in the warm up and also the viewing areas.

Among the riders attending are World Champion Jos Lansink, European Championd Kevin Staut, current World number one Pius Schwizer and triple World Cup winner Marcus Ehning. Leading ladies Edwina Alexander and Jessica Kurten will also be competing for their share of the prize money.
