La Mandria: International Horse Centre

The exclusive International Horse Centre “ Venaria Reale” will host the International Horse Show 2010. The structure, located in La Mandria Regional Park, is a charming location where history meets art and nature creating a unique atmosphere of beauty and emotions.

In the central building, characterized by three loggias, are located the main offices, in the wings the welcome rooms, rest rooms, guest quarters,  stables ( 64 boxes in 4 different rooms) two lecture rooms and an exhibition centre.

The Centre has at disposal modern for it's sport arena, a surface of over 40 hectares which includes a cover riding area of 4000squared meters, 2 grass rind, 2 sand arena ( 180x80 and 100x80) , a sand excercise track of 1600meters,

The history of Cascina Rubbianetta, head office of the Centre, located in Druento area, is strictly connected with the horse world, as it was built between 1863 and 1868 by Vittorio Emanuele II and assigned to horse breeding.

The horseshoe shape building, was originally named Emanuella and was located in a very important historical area, where the town of Druento was founded in close proximity to Saint Giuliano Chapel.

The farm building, used in the past for cattle breeding and which had lately fallen into disrepair, have now been brought back to the original splendor and assigned to a use connected with horses. This was thanks to an amazing restoration which was coordinated by the Director of the Project “ La Venaria Reale” and featured  Architect Giancarlo Battista.
