Jan Tops about the Global Champions Tour

Welcome to the 2011 the Global Champions Tour season. I personally look forward to another exciting and action-packed year of show jumping around the globe. In the last few years the Global Champions Tour has attained vast success and I am proud to see that we have reached our initial goal of maximising the development of show jumping throughout the world. This has been possible through the support of our stakeholders in sponsors, event organisers and professional staff.

The talent and depth of horses and riders on the Global Champions Tour are at an all-time high.  In 2011 the Global Champions Tour is comprised of 10 events in 9 countries, as competitors compete for a record prize pool. The circuit commences in Doha, Qatar and concludes eight months later in Abu Dhabi creating fitting partnerships with Middle Eastern countries that are quickly emerging in the upper echelons of our sport.

Last year many more millions of fans around the world watched the Global Champions Tour events, an all-time record. This year we will focus on creating further avenues for broadcasting opportunities around the globe, as a means of enticing viewers and continuing the development of promotion for our sponsors.

I would personally like to wish everyone success and enjoyment of the Global Champions Tour 2011.
